Their Story

Jeremy grew up in the suburbs of Ohio, and Kim grew up on a farm in Iowa. They both joined the military just before September 11, 2001. Jeremy entered active duty in 2002 and served as an aircraft mechanic. Kim’s National Guard unit was activated in 2003. Jeremy and Kim met in the Middle East on R&R during their first combat tour in 2004. They married in 2006, and Jeremy remained on active duty until 2014, serving as an Army Aviator with 3 more combat tours.

Jeremy and Kim grew up in homes that practice their Christian faiths. However, Jeremy struggled with his faith journey in the Army initially, but after an experience with the Gospel in 2007, he gave his life to Christ. Kim gave her life to Christ in 2004, and after the experiences of her combat tour in Iraq, she recognized that God had a plan for her life, which sustained her through an eventful deployment. Jeremy and Kim received discipleship through a beautiful hospitality ministry, where they saw Christ lived out while assigned to Fort Riley from 2009 to 2014.

Jeremy finished his degree from Liberty University in 2016. At this time, Jeremy and Kim began their missionary careers. They served five years at Fort Liberty (formerly Fort Bragg) from 2019 to 2024. They returned to Fort Riley, Kansas, to open a hospitality house and continue to serve the soldiers and family members of the First Infantry Division.

The Covers’ focus remains on reaching military service members and families through their home with a weekly Bible study, discipleship, and ongoing personal encouragement and support. As combat veterans who began their family while on active duty, they have a unique understanding of our military’s trials and challenges while pursuing and growing their faith in Jesus. Jeremy is currently pursuing certification and a master’s degree in biblical counseling. Kim loves to meet and encourage the women in the military community through PWOC.

They have three energetic sons: Benjamin, who loves football and hunting in Kansas; Zachary, who loves fishing and running; and Daniel, who is a budding runner and enjoys playing instruments of all kinds. As a family they enjoy providing a restful place where soldiers and their families can connect and receive encouragement from God’s word.
