Uk & Manuela Chong

Uk and Manuela serve the Lord in Thailand among the military and police. They share the gospel, teach the Bible, and train life skills. Currently, their goal is to build up a Thai-led ministry team that will carry on the work into the future.

Their Story

Uk grew up in South Portland, Maine after coming from South Korea. He studied aerospace engineering at Cornell University and was commissioned as a US Air Force officer. Uk and Manuela married in the year 2000 and were blessed with 2 children. After retiring, God led him to seminary at Columbia International University. Manuela and Uk felt called to the armed forces people of Southeast Asia and worked there since 2010.

Manuela grew up in northern Germany. She became a believer in Christ as a young adult. Having no Bible knowledge and desiring to learn more to grow as a Christian, she attended Bible school for 3 years. After graduation she moved to Taiwan to serve as a missionary in a home for disabled children. Seven years later, she married Uk, learned to be a wife of an Air Force officer, and to be a mom to 2 kids. She was happy to return to Southeast Asia and discover living and ministering in Thailand.
